Escape from Wildcat Canyon

The entire metaphor of the film is expressed in the notion of an architect’s independent practice, as opposed to residency in a New York firm. The drama is precipitated by downsizing and figured by a dam that is “purged” annually, leaving the architect’s father (Dennis Weaver) and son in a calamity when their light plane goes down.

Godard has the theme in Éloge de l’amour, there is a void filled by “Spielberg & Associates, Inc.” only to the extent of elders and children, adults are on their own.
