Senators contrive to lay their hands on an important
communications device and sell it to the enemy, they
send a CIA special team to fetch it out of Bosnia. The team is to be
liquidated, its leader thinks to keep the item, a cohort disagrees, they have a falling-out and divide it uselessly.
Jerome Katz, known as “Raven” (his name is a
resounding joke from Peckinpah’s The Killer Elite), eliminates the murderous
Senators one by one and trails the subordinate. Post’s Magnum Force is
cited in the last scene with homage, the CIA have come
to collect the gizmo, it and they are blown up in a company car.
The style is related to Andy Sidaris, with the
pointed satirical flair and beauty that are his specialty.
Burt Reynolds has the title role, with a good deal
of freedom.
