The Beast of Hollow Mountain
The calm
professionalism of Guy Madison is the driving force down in old Mexico as he
runs cattle. He’s a very capable fellow, so he gets on well with the
locals, but there’s some opposition.
Patricia Medina
is the hinge of many a scene. She rides a horse like a real cowgirl, and then
the camera pivots around her like a sculptural study.
The opposition
reaches a mortal frenzy, but is completely transcended by the appearance of the
beast. The cowboy saves his enemy from its clutches, and tempts it into
quicksand by swinging on a rope before it. Personal animosities aren’t at
issue, but the feast of unreason.
