Up Your Troubles
A great
masterpiece on the Great War and its aftermath of orphans, treated unfailingly
as comedy.
Marshall (a fine
tough heavy à l’improviste) says he never saw McCarey on the set but
takes it for granted he was responsible for the second-unit victory in the
trenches (a tank takes Laurel & Hardy through the barbed wire at night,
roping in Huns on the return), among other things, according to Skretvedt.
