The teleplay is so painfully abstract in its circumspection, depending as it does on the somewhat more forthright rendering of “The Deep Blue Sleep”, as to suggest a purer stylistic experiment in itself, which is supported by some unusual camera angles, or an unspeakable reality.

Certainly there is here the idea of mob money laundered through more or less legitimate businesses, such as the Heritage Land & Development Co., and the mirror of Electric Larry the loan shark patently implies the cataclysmic liquidation.
