East Side Kids
A tale about
counterfeiting minus the usual gang, but with a Cagney double, which
demonstrates the power of the script. A riverfront view and Resnais montage
opens it, and when the rich kid Algernon joins the gang, he takes the moniker
“Mouse”. Situated between Dead End and Hue and Cry,
with a surprising foreglimpse of Billy Liar, and directed with tautness
by Bob Hill.
