Nightmare Castle (Gli Amanti d’oltretomba)

A great thing of guilt and retribution and bitterness and envy, wrought in response to The Innocents (and anticipating The Nightcomers). It opens like a dream, and only ends when it’s run its course to the last drop on the fire, after a quodlibet of themes from all the great horror films, and a climax out of Fanny and Alexander.
