Bio-Dome
This is simply
too intellectually demanding for what we call critics, to say nothing of
morning talk show hosts (and the less said the better). It’s in the true
vein of Beach Blanket Bingo, just full of rather blasé inventions that
are well-filmed and hilarious. Unless you’re in the business, and
therefore think Dumb and Dumber is Shakespeare, this is continually
surprising in its comical amusements.
It was hard to make fun of the bio-dome experiment, because it was so absurd in itself, so the main focus of comedy here is what you might call the gravitational pull of the place in the first place, and then there are some jokes about it, with a nicely refined ending and a tag that takes the mickey out of the thing.
