Ebenezer Scrooge, natch, who stinted Dr. Frank N. Stein (his pal’s Dracula)
last Christmas and caused a queer aberration, this year it’s Robert Browning
(Frankie Howerd) not advanced for a trip to Venice with the Barrett daughter
(Hattie Jacques) and dead as a doornail, next time it’s Cinderella (Barbara
Windsor) and Scrooge her landlord, who gets the end of her fairy godmother’s
wand and changes his ways none too effectively, he’s nicked for solicitation.
