Road to Redemption

A nice young blonde of very recent type finds herself owing “gun-toting mob perverts” a quarter-million, so her ailing grandfather (Pat Hingle) takes to the road with her.

The rich comedy centers on a great fat mobster’s love affair with 8-track stereo and certain nostalgic distinctions between pop music idols of yore. And then there are the Wyoming locations, Western tourist traps and rustic settings that make the whole thing freshly-viewed.

A Billy Graham sermon is as entertaining as any film, and here’s a Billy Graham film as good as his preaching. Hingle gets to bail out his granddaughter, but will she respond to his ministrations as a witness for the redemptive power of the Savior?
