Leave me...

Let my tears fall and dampen the earth,

Soon enough, they’ll dry on their own,

For even the ocean is rimmed with beaches.

What’s the good of flattering and distracting me,

Let me weep and spill my tears

As before me, many another has often wept.

Let my tears run, to show I remember the past,

Let me dampen with my tears the earth of her grave,

Before it dries, my eyes will be out of tears.

Leave me alone and importune me not,

My moaning soon will change to sobbing,

And in its turn end also...

These graves will always be here scattered,

But I have to go back to the world of the living, and move on

In this world that isn’t moved by sorrow nor feels joy.

When my tears have dried and my sadness is gone,

I’ll smile, remembering my weakness,

And visit this grave with someone else beside me.
