Mousk and Sousk

Mousk and Sousk,

White rat, black mouse,

Got into the house

To teach the little spider

To use a loom and weave a

Fine linen sheet.

Dispatch it to Nantes, Quimper, Paris,

It’s ready for sale as there is!

Put your sous away,

You’ll buy a field one day,

Apple-trees for the season

And three fine cows,

A bull to their stallion.

Sing, you tree frogs,

For the night is falling now,

Night when you can hear them loud,

The toads and frogs,

Listen, my blackbird

And magpie you talkers,

Listen, all day long,

You’re going to learn how to sing.
