Nowhere to Run

In the Millard Sheets country, Shane goes back again to whatever it was before, a matter-of-fact spectacle of the Old West, clothed here in modern garb so you recognize some of the principals. The peculiar tinge of Postmodernism adds a wispy melancholy that seems apt, and for the rest it’s a Republic or Monogram or Lone Star feature, plain as day. Widow (Rosanna Arquette) with kids, a monstrous land developer (Joss Ackland) with a henchman and a crooked sheriff. Against all this a lawbreaker (Jean-Claude Van Damme).
