The woman in the wilderness, organized as a pregnant police chief and a phony kidnapping that leaves a trail of blood and bodies in the frozen North. The essential gag is that the executive sales manager of a car dealership in Brainerd, Minn. goes to Fargo, N. Dakota for his meeting with the kidnappers of his wife, who are supposed to be paid a fraction of the million from his father-in-law. A bloodless finesse goes wrong in every particular.

The structure of the case is of prime moment. The Upper Midwest answers for itself in the league of both coasts against it.
